Exactly what you will learn in Math 10: Apprenticeship and Workplace is laid out by the BC government on their website
The following standards are based on the government document and listed by chapter of the textbook they are included in, several government standards such as B1: Analyze puzzles and games, will not be assessed directly as they are integrated into the course on a weekly basis.
Ch 1 Ch 2 Ch 3/4 Ch 5 Ch 6 Ch 7
- Match prefixes (kilo-, hecto-, deca-, deci-, centi-, milli-) to the number they represent
- Match prefixes to powers of 10
- Convert one metric unit into anouther
ex) 55555 millimetres is how many decametres? - Notes: Metric System
- Khan Academy Links:
- Order metric and imperial linear units from longest to shortest

- Use a ruler to measure an object in centimetres or millimetres or to 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 inch preceision
- Read a micrometer
See 1/1000th on an inch micrometer applet for example - Read a Vernier calliper
See Millimetre Vernier Calliper Applet for example - Understand the difference between inner and outer measurements and diameter and radius
- First assessment (pdf, answers)
- Determine a midpoint of a line using a compass and stright edge
See math open reference for a guide - Determine the midpoint of a distance

- Khan Academy Links:
- Plug information directly into a formula to determine a value
ex) Perimeter of a rectange is given by the formula P = 2l + 2w, if a rectange has length of 6m and a width of 2m what is it's perimeter? - Rearrange a formula to determine a value
ex) Perimeter of a rectange is given by the formula P = 2l + 2w, rearrange the formula so it will give length of width a perimeter are known - Give an example of a formula which can be written in two different ways
- See if two different formulas are equivalent
